Junior Lions away trip to Rotherham..
Play football, watch football, love football!!
The
Junior Lions trip to Rotherham was a feast of football from start
to finish!
After leaving the den at 7am, and stopping for breakfast at the
services, the Junior Lions coach arrived at Millmoor, the home of
Rotherham United FC. We were taken into the junior millers room,
met a few old friends from last season and got changed. Millwall
fielded two sides against the Rotherham juniors, Big Millwall and
Little Millwall. Each played 3 games. Little Millwall won their
first match 8-7, with some well taken goals from the little lions,
they lost their second match 4-1 but ended with a 2-1 victory over
Little Rotherham.
Big
Millwall lost their first and second games 4-3 but dug deep and
came out as 2-1 winners over big rotherham in their final game.
After handshakes all around, lunch was served up by Rotherham for
everybody, and then it was table football , computer games and sweeties
until the stadium opened up for the Millwall V Rotherham league
match. It was a poor game, so the less said about that the better!
But a draw was a fair result and it didn’t rain so that was
good. At full time everyone went back to the junior millers room
and then we went to the sponsers lounge for a special treat- we
were watching the England game!!
A
few people went over to the kebab shop and took orders from everyone
for dinner and then it was time for England V Turkey, a very important
match.
There was a junior lions sweepstake on first scorer so that added
to the fun and tension of the match, Dave won that- he picked out
the nil-nil ticket.
England finished the game and had qualified for Euro 2004, which
was met by cheers and dancing! Then on the way back we had a raffle,
film and a well deserved sleep - a fantastic football day out!
